After having previously kitted out other Shell facilities, the Company chose bott to refurbish the site, making the most of our complete project service and 10-year guarantee. This particular project was completely bespoke due to the nature of the location and facility; with large pillars running through the workshop, they opted for the bott custom design and build option. Their team were consulted during design stages and were shown 3D walkthroughs to visualise the layout and understand how it could enhance the way that they operate.

The cubio range was the obvious choice for a workshop requiring a durable solution in a demanding environment. The set up included custom bott cubio drawer cabinets with high-capacity storage for organising tools. Three cubio storage cupboards along with wall mounted cupboards allowed space for our tailor-made industrial workbenches. The plans were meticulously designed and resulted in an increase of the overall workplace storage availability by 40%, making use of the space underneath the workbenches. With perfo panels lining the walls, Shell are now able to store and protect specialist equipment on the walls, keeping the area neat and organised.

Where possible, the runners on the cubio drawer cabinets were upgraded to heavy-duty options for maximum storage capacity. After sales support was given when changing the lock barrels, in order for specific trade teams to access their particular tools. Plug points were integrated into the modular tool storage systems and cabinet drawer dividers were purchased; not only making the drawers more efficient, but giving an impressive finish.

The previous bott cabinets installed in the late 90s were being replaced overtime with different brands which created a mix and match effect. With our new cubio workshop finished in ‘anthracite grey’, the space is now cohesive in appearance, encouraging organisation and order. Due to being an offshore site, Shell were unable to use our installation service, however we were available over video call to provide support and help with any queries when needed. Shell say that feedback across all teams has been positive.
